I made one change to this version: I used elastic in the sleeve hems instead of pleating them, per my daughter's request (she thought the pleats were scratchy.) The elastic looks much better than how the pleats turned out previously, anyway.
Short sleeve knit dress with bodice yoke, gathered sleeve caps and pleated sleeve hems.
128-170. I made size 134 slimmed to size 128.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except my busy print hides the details.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I think this is a great basic knit dress pattern with some fun details for interest. It has some nice shaping as well, good for older girls. The pattern sizing actually goes up past my own height!
I dislike hemming a sleeve that's been pleated. The pleats tend to pull apart as I'm sending the sleeve under the coverstitcher and the result is crooked pleats. The instructions don't mention this, but it would seem to be a good idea to baste those pleats down before hemming.
A floral jersey with paisley border print. Maybe a little sophisticated for an 8 year old, but she chose it from my stash. Since I turned the pattern on the fabric to utilize the border print, the dress took just 1 yard.
