Child's dress, pants and shorts with ruffle accents and 18" doll dress, perfect for fabric and print mixing. By Sarah Rose.
Pattern Sizing:
3-8. I made size 3.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! It looks even better because it's not made with the shades of brown fabrics they chose for the pattern envelope!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The dress is a simple tiered dress with apron. I thought the apron was super cute, and I liked having the opportunity to mix and match different cotton prints, and all the different items that are included (dress, tunic, shorts, pants, doll dress) make this pattern one that a child could wear year round.
Fabric Used:
Quilting Cotton. I used 2 prints from the Moda Marmelade collection, and the white plaid is from another manufacturer I don't know off the top of my head.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The pattern calls for a 7" zipper that I swapped out for an invisible zipper. I didn't make any other changes.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes- my older daughter wants one, and I'd like to make the doll dress.
