This is my third Renfrew. I decided to post a review of this time because I made some significant changes to the pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Instructions are very well written.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is a lovely basic pattern. Actually, it is the first knit tee that I've made that I really like, and have repeated. Because I am crazy about the style and fit, I decided to turn it into a tunic for these colder months, and I needed something to wear with leggings. I only wish it came in larger sizes! I had to cut the largest size and even make some adjustments from there.
Fabric Used: A sweater knit from my stash that has been sitting around for ages. I think it came from Joann's.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I did the following:
-raised the neckline about an inch
-narrowed the sleeves through the forearm and wrist tapering to about a 1"1/4" seam at the wrist.
- since I didn't have enough fabric to cut two cowl pieces (which get sewn right sides together, then sewn to the neckline) I used just one piece and finished the seam in the back and the top edge of the cowl with my serger.
-added 4" to the length.
-my usual full bust adjustment.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yup...in fact I have one on the cutting table right now! Next one will be tunic length made from a ponte print. I would SOOOO recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: In my opinion, this is just about the perfect tee. Now that I've forged new modification territory, I can see a whole bunch of possibilities for this wonderful basic. No doubt, other reviewers have stated what an easy to read, quick to make, wonderfully drafted pattern the Renfrew is.

Love your longer version, it looks great on you! I have a cowl version (3/4 length sleeves) cut out now. This will be my third version (2nd wearable) and like you I love this style! Did you add all 4 inches within the Shorten/Length lines?

What a terrific variation and plenty of future potential. You've gotten a great fit and it really suits you. How do you accomplish your "usual FBA"? I'll need one too.

What a great top! I added it to my wishlist only to find it backordered. Look at the ruckus you've caused!

Levone: (regarding adjusting the length) I just added the 4" to the bottom of the Renfrew. I had a good fit with through the bodice/hip, so really, all I needed was length. It worked for me since I have pretty straight hips/butt.
