| Pattern Description:
Faux wrap top with 2 different wrap front options and 3 sleeve options. I made version c with short sleeves.
Pattern Sizing:
Pattern has sizes 6-14. I used size -2 bust, 0 waist, 6 hips. I picked my size by wrapping the fabric around my body at the bust, waist, hip to my liking and choosing the corresponding finished garment size. This method is especially good for knits because you can use fabric of any stretchiness, not just what's called for on the pattern.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. My version is more fitted than the picture.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
This is a Palmer/Pletsch pattern so the instructions are more detailed that others. The pattern pieces has extra fitting markings and the instructions has some fitting details. This made the pattern more complex for me. I didn't need the changes that were marked on the pattern and explained in the instructions so there was a lot more lines to confuse me. The changes that I did need like a SBA wasn't on the instructions but a FBA was. The pattern is drafted for a B cup so maybe they figured the majority of people was covered. In other patterns I wouldn't have bother with a SBA if it's drafted for a B cup but with wrap top, they're prone to gaping and revealing too much. Better safe than sorry.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I didn't like the extra fitting lines and instructions. If you need these particular fit adjustments it would make your life easier. If not, like me, it just made everything more confusing. It is a cute top. I like the style with the extra gathers at the neck.
Fabric Used:
I used a pretty stretchy red mystery knit from the Michael Levine's loft. I only had about a yard so I ended eeking out short sleeves when I had wanted a 3/4 sleeve. When will I learn to stay away from shiny fabrics? This fabric was a terrible choice. It shows every lump and bump. I have to wear a undershirt to keep everything looking smooth. I didn't even bother to hem the sleeve or the bottom of the shirt. I figured it would just add more lumps and bumps.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did my usual fit adjustments SBA, shoulder slope, pear shape, rounded back. I was a little confused about how the pieces went together so I was doing a little bit of blind guessing when I was doing my tissue fitting. I don't do muslins so I just held my breathe and hoped for the best. ::exhale:: Everything turned out fine.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would sew it again. Not in a shiny fabric. Maybe some longer sleeves. I would recommend it to others. It would be good for an advanced beginner. The alterations and sewing the shawl collar is a bit tricky.
Conclusion:
It's a cute top that can be made up in different fabric and sleeve lengths for different seasons. I definitely see a couple of these in my wardrobe in the future. | Buy this pattern for $14.96 List Price: $19.95 Add to Bag |

Looks great on you!

You look beautiful in your new blouse. The photo doesn't show the shininess of your fabric, so maybe it's not as bad as you think. I think the fabric looks perfect for that style.

Wrap tops seem to work for almost all figure types and help those of us who missed out in the bust department look more curvy. You look really good in this style.

Looks great! I've made two of these so far, but mine have the much looser fit/drapey neckline of the envelope photo. It's cute more fitted too!

It looks like a wonderful fit! Sorry to hear about the shiny fabric, but in the photo at least it looks great, and it seems like the pattern would be well worth making again if you found a fabric you liked better!
