| Pattern Description: Sew a cute and functional bag with two front pockets, two interior patch pockets, and an adjustable strap.
Approximate Finished Dimensions
14" wide x 11" high x 6" deep (28 x 36 x 15 cm)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I think it looked similar
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions as always for the Keyka Lou/Michelle Patterns are excellent and well written with lots of helpful photos and diagrams.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? A functional design with plenty of good sized pockets. Nothing to dislike.
Fabric Used: Both my main fabric and lining fabric are a cotton drill. I found the fabric with the wooden thread reels at my local Spotlight store, and decided to use drill for lining too as it will hold up better.
I interlined with some terry towelling, as it was what I had on hand.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: For this first try of the pattern, I made it up exactly as written.
The instructions give you a couple of different options for the internal pockets - either as one large pocket, or divided into pen slots and a smaller pocket. I did one of each, but would go with the smaller pockets next time as the larger one hangs open a wee bit. Inside pockets Outside pockets visible
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, after seeing my bag, my sister has requested I make her one too. I would definitely recommend this, or any of the Michelle patterns.
Conclusion: A great sized bag for holding all my bits, without being too large. It sewed up quickly and easily with a really nice finish. |
