Pattern Description:
Misses' fitted shirts, A, B, C, D, E have princess seams, collar and collar band, front band, front and back yokes, narrow hem, flat-felled seams and button closing. A, B, side slit openings. A, D, short sleeves with stitched hems. B, three-quarter sleeves with button cuffs. C, E, long sleeves with button cuffs. D, E, patch pockets. E, bias yokes, pockets and cuffs. This pattern has A, B, C, D cup sizes.
Pattern Sizing:
This is a multi-sized envelope. 6 to 12 in one or 14 to 22 in another. Be aware that the pattern is listed as fitted but the model's top is not what I'd consider fitted. Her ease is more like a semi-fitted top. I made a size larger than normal through the chest area and a C cup and found it to resemble more of the ease I had hoped for.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, I believe it does.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Directions are great, illustrations easy to see. One thing about the construction process, they do not have you stay stitch the neckline. I did that just so it wouldn't stretch when I sewed the collar and collar band on. I felt more secure taking that extra step.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This pattern is very well drafted and aren't the flat-felled seams cute? Everything fit together really well. I think I have a new TNT blouse pattern!
Fabric Used:
100% cotton from my favoriate local quilt shop in Sioux Falls.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I omitted the patch pockets in this view and made my usual 1/2 swayback adjustment on the center back piece tapering to nothing at the back princess seam.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will sew this again and I highly recommend it to others. Beginners, please be aware that while this pattern is listed as easy, it takes a few practice attempts before you are successful with a nice looking collar band and collar.
Conclusion:
This is a great top. I really like the tunic length that I made this time. I can see this in many fabrics with some great button choices.
Have fun with this great pattern!
Sue
