Pattern Description:
Five aprons in three sizes, two half sized, three full aprons. I made view B/E (Bib view E, apron part view B)
Pattern Sizing:
S-M-L (8-18)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
More or less.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Didn't look at them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I wanted a simple, easy apron pattern with a waistband and a wellsized bib, so that my clothes are protected. Unfortunaletly, at least this patternview-combination is impractibel.
Fabric Used:
Cotton.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The waistband is quite wide - I narrowed it to appr. 2inch wide.
When cutting a muslin bib, I noticed the the straps are very much towards the arm side of the shoulder - I didn't want the straps to fall off, so I redrew the pattern, moving the shoulderstraps 2 inches toward the neck. I lengthend the bodice half of what I took away from the waistband, so now the waistband sits higher than the original. I changed the back straps accordingly.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
The skirt part is a rectangle of about 40inches wide, being attached to the waistband with appr.28inches length. I feel restricted in my movements at the hem level, more fabric would have been nice here. At the same time, there is too much fabric at the waistband. Because of the narrowness below, the fabric keeps bunching up at the waistlevel, looking heavily pregnant (apart from being in the way). View D and E have a much wider hemline, so this would work better for this apron.
Also, the back straps (heavilypregnant" target="_blank">back view) keep falling off my shoulders (despite my moving the straps more inward) when working with the apron. This apron would need a "connector" between the two backstraps. I also feel the straps fall off, because the waistband rides up. I should not have lengthend the bodice (2cm, less than an inch) to accomodate the narrowing of the waistband.
Conclusion:
The D/E apronskirt part looks nice and should work fine. But I don't like the bodice part of the pattern, it doesn't keep up, as the straps fall off my shoulders when working around the house. If you look for a simple full apron pattern, look somewhere else.

Thanks for your review... I'm glad to see you posting... your reviews are quite truthful/helpful...yes the fabric is really cute... if I can suggest (I'm cleaning right now and taking a quick break... just using a safety pin in top of the bib... so it stays up when you are busy working around the house - your apron is so cheerful! :)
