| Pattern Description: Kids lined vest, top and pants.
Pattern Sizing: sizes 4,5,6 - I made size 6.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? It was simple, but after making a simple vest from another pattern in a smaller size, I found the small elastic in the back and the detailed V in the back a bit of an extra pain to stitch and top stitch - not that hard, just made the project a bit more complicated than needed in a simple child's vest.
Fabric Used: Cotton Twill on one side and polyester faux cowhide on the other.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Based on measurements I took, I needed the length of a size 6 vest, so I made it that size, but upon fitting it on a child similar sized to the one it was intended for, I realized it was much too big around, and took in the side seams 3 inches on each side for a much better fit. I also replaced the buttons with plastic snaps to make it reversible.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes I would sew it again and recommend it to others.
Conclusion: I made this vest as a gift for my nephew, it was intended to be used as a dress up vest as he loves to play cowboy, but hoped with the black twill on one side it could be used for real wear as well!
