| Pattern Description:
Misses' Skirt has contour waist, lined yokes, size zipper, narro hems and shaped hemlines. A,B: A-line, bias, below mid-knee and mock wrapped front. C: Bias, slightly flared.
Pattern Sizing:
6-22. I made a 14.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Not quite. I lengthened and straightened the hem slightly. Click here to see the altered pattern pieces.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The skirt fits well and hits the right balance between novelty and wearability for my lifestyle.
Fabric Used:
A heathered polyester plainweave offered as a monthly special by Denver Fabrics ~18 years ago. While predominantly emerald green, there are hints of cobalt and turquoise blue. Because of the sheerness of the open weave, I lined it in a turquoise lightweight sueded rayon.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I lengthened and straightened the asymmetric hem.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Of course. This is my third version. V1 follows the pattern more closely. V2 is not recognizable.
Conclusion:
A very versatile, easy and well-fitting pattern.
More pix of V1 in action. A tutorial for the machine appliqué work in V2. More pix of V3 on my blog and the sweater I knit to match. |
