| Pattern Description:
Flattering fitted top featuring a fashionable square neckline, extended shoulders & zip back, this top is a great piece to have in your wardrobe. Sew it in Linen for summer or wool for winter.
Pattern Sizing:
I bought a size 12 (Aussie sizing) based on bust measurement.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
the pattern is so simple that one won't need much instruction.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I did not wind up needing a zipper, making it that much easier to sew.
Fabric Used:
a cotton and silk blend which is about the most comfortable thing I've ever worn on a hot and humid day.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I have sewn several patterns by Style Arc and I find that they really fit me well in the shoulders. On the Big Four patterns, I have to make a narrow adjustment, but not on Style Arc. I do need an adjustment for my long back length and sometimes a forward shoulder adjustment, but these are pretty easy if you are not combining them with the added complexity of a narrow shoulder adjustment, too. I did increase the wearing ease around the hips; I wear a size 14 on the bottom, so that is to be expected.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I highly recommend this pattern - I really needed a simple top for woven fabrics and this is it. It says it is also suitable for a ponte knit, but when I tried it in a knit, I didn't like the way the darts looked. I'd use a different pattern for knit fabrics.

Conclusion:
This is one of those garments that I should sew up in 20 different fabrics. I can wear it under jackets to give a different look to my basic separates. I like that the open neckline works well with any type of jacket collar, and it makes a great showcase for a necklace.

It does look good and looks like a useful top. I agree that Style Arc are a good fit and are simple to put together
