Pattern Description:
Various clothes in baby/toddler sizes, I only made the dungarees.

Pattern Sizing:

9,12 and 18 months, 2 years and 3 years

I made the 9 months (in red twill) and the 2 years (in liberty print cotton babycord).

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

I chose the pattern because I liked the cuffs. I'd be inclined to try adapting the pattern so that the cuffs are made separately from the contrasting fabric, so that they can be folded down as the child grows. In this pattern, the contrast fabric is just a facing, attached to the inside of the bottom of each leg, and the legs are then folded up so that the facings show. It looks good, but is not as clever as I thought when I bought the pattern (possibly if I'd been a bit cleverer myself I'd have realised this when reading the envelope...)

For the red version, which I didn't line, I made french seams. I'm pleased with the effect but in the thick fabric it did mean a lot of bulk where two seams join, even when I trimmed down the seam allowances as far as I dared. If I make these again I think I'll line them instead (as I did the other pair).

Fabric Used:

I made two pairs.
One pair in red cotton twill, with facings, straps and pocket in quilting cotton (Makower "Space Stripe" I think).
One pair in liberty-print cotton cord with turquoise cotton poplin for the lining.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

For the boy's pair I made the stripes and pocket from the contrasting fabric as well as the cuffs/facing.

For the girl's pair I lined the whole garment, instead of just facing the cuffs, and I used my lining fabric for the inside of the pocket and the back of the straps too.

I think the pattern design assumes you'll be making one of their matching tops to go with the dungarees, so the contrasting fabric would be used again there. Making just the dungarees, if you followed the pattern exactly you'd have the contrast fabric only on the cuffs, which I feel is less satisfactory.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Yes.
