Pattern Description: This is a shoulder tote made for the iPad (and the pattern is called "MiPad" by byannie.com). The center front was sewn with a diagonal pattern with "texture magic", then ironed to create the texture. There is an adjustable 1" strap.
"Soft & Stable" (a very cushy foam-like stabilizer) was used on front, back and pocket. This product makes any bag have a look of luxury, but when topstitching the top of the purse, I found the layers on the back side (where there was an extra layer of soft & stable because of the pocket) extremely hard to work with. I covered and hammered the seams to try to reduce the bulk, but I still ended up topstitching from the underside so I could maintain flatness of the bulk.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Very much so.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, but I found it helpful to view some of the online tutorials first.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the richness in appearance of this bag
Fabric Used:I used three Joel Dewberry Quilting coordinating quilting cottons.
I will definitely make this again, but I would not put any stabilizer on the top part of the pocket (above the zipper).
This is a really pretty bag - I love your choice of fabric
