I HAVE NOT finished this top yet. As I was cutting out the pieces, I noticed that the sleeves have a second half starting at mid-bicep, which will be sewn to the rest of the top, which is a front and back piece sewn together. So the sleeves are three pieces each.

On the pattern envelope, the photographer made sure to have the models' hands covering the seam. This is making me suspicious, as the company or at least the photographer, does not like that aspect on a solid fabric and is hiding it.

I am MIDWAY DONE with the top. I think it turned out well in this fabric. I made a 16 on the envelope, and it is big. I can still wear it, but it isn't tight like the envelope. I took pics to show. (Oh, can I only add one photo? I wanted to show the side view.) I actually have no concept of my size or how cut pieces add up to size, so I kept wanting to go bigger. It is easy to make tighter if I choose.

I am deciding whether to go ahead with the tie on the bottom, or hem the piece a bit shorter and either make a belt or maybe even use the key hole at the hem? Not sure. Yet. The tie might feel heavy and fussy, but it might be the thing that makes this top interesting.

I bought a fabric, see the URL above, that is not a solid. Here is the link to the fabric. http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Teal-Splash-on-Black-Knit-Fabric-Fashion-Knit-Fancies_stcVVproductId149259342VVcatId81875VVviewprod.htm

Any sewists out there that have completed this top? I'll finish tomorrow once I decide what changes I will do.

size 16 does sound big, looking at your photo. Did you measure your body?

Your top looks beautiful from the thumbnail, love the fabric you chose. Size sixteen does seem large to me, if that is you wearing the top. Congrats on your first review!
