| MY APOLOGIES, BUT I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT McCALL'S 5977 IS OOP (OUT OF PRINT).
I made McCall's 5977. I did make some changes: I eliminated the jabots and ruffles. I just wanted a plain top... I needed to make good use of this piece of remnant fabric that I had left over from another top I made. I,also, added front/back neck facings instead of the fabric binding, then I just serged and turned under the armhole seams...very quick project. Oh, the other thing I did was to eliminate the bust dart. I gathered the excess fabric instead. I love this top. I'm pleased with the outcome of the use of this fabric!
Fabric choice:
It's a burn out/ poly knit~ It's a really neat piece of fabric. I made this in a wrap top once before, thus the remnant.
It's super-super quick and easy and would be great for beginners.
I reviewed this top once before. That particular top came out a little too big. The fabric was a very lightweght stretchy knit. I made the one with the jabot/flounce and it made the front droop and sag because of the weight of it.
This time, I eliminated any of the extras and made it smaller. You can see more pictures here,
Hot Off the Sewing Machine!!!
I highly recommend it for a great wardrobe builder!
As I look back over my reviews, I realized that I share a lot of tops. However, I sew for a lot of clients and don't have much time form myself. So, a quick top like this gives me the satisfaction of making something for me !

I love it! I have this pattern (yay). Did you go down a size to accommodate the knit fabric?

Thanks Amanda! I did go down to accommodate the fabric...this pattern really should be nearly close fitting.

Perfect little tank--it's so nice to whip up something like in just a short time with a little bit of fabric. It's like magic!

Love it! Thanks for the idea of eliminating the dart, I am not a fan of darts on this type of top.

Pretty tank and like the idea of omitting the ruffles.
