Pattern Description: Loose-fitting jacket or coat has collar variations and topstitching. A and B: lined, side pockets, and asymmetrical snap closing. C: stitched hem on sleeves, and belt. C and D: unlined, side front pockets, and purchased optional bias tape to finish raw edges.
I made View B
Pattern Sizing:XS-XXL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Somewhat, I made a few changes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I wanted to showcase some lovely antique buttons I was given.
Fabric Used: A drapey, black tone-on-tone rayon brocade
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:I shortened View B, eliminated the lining and used buttons instead of snaps.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, and yes.
Conclusion: An easy pattern with several ways to wear the collar
and a good foil for pretty buttons. For more pictures and details, see my blog

I think it's officially your fault that I bought some fabric at the dreaded JoAnn's today lol! Something about it (actually a home dec fabric) reminded my subconsciously of your beautiful jacket, and I had to have it! :D

Beautiful coat. Lucky to have such a son in law. My son couldn't even figure out that one, and a great matrix for the creation of the coat.

Have a great trip in your lovely "Manteau". I've always wondered what women wore under those coverups........ and congratulations to your daughter and future son-in-law. :)

Great jacket and a great way to feature the buttons (which are also an improvement on the original design).
