from the envelope ~ Infant's Layette - A complete layette for the baby ... all garments are "Simple to Sew" and each made from only one major pattern piece. Included are: dress, pinafore, bonnet, panties, slip, shirt and plastic lined playsuit, short and long kimonos, sleeping bag, and bib.
Pattern Sizing:
One size - infant
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. I made view 7 - the bunting.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This is a great pattern. I used it for a doll, but I will definitely be making some of these pieces up for actual babies in the future (for gifts for others)
I do think that the closure for the bunting probably should be modified to be safer for an actual infant.
Fabric Used:
a cotton knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I did not have quite enough fabric so shortened one side by about 2 inches. Since this was for a doll it doesn't really matter. I also didn't have quite enough ribbon to go all around the edge, so on the bottom two edges I just turned it up a half inch and sewed a hem. I used the ribbon on the two front sides.
Conclusion:
I really enjoyed sewing this pattern and will definitely use it many more times.
