Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but prior sewing knowledge is required. Experience making a vest recommended before using this pattern.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved the final look. Very professional image and shape.

On the negative, the illustrations are confusing on many steps. They show the final look of the step, but many times instructions to acheive the picture are completely missing. Frequently the instructions say "as shown". Look very carefully. It's easy to miss shading and single lines representing a stitch.

Fabric Used:
Tweed (wool), and satin for lining & back.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Modified the shape of the back (at neck) to fit my body and eliminate puckering.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This is actually the second vest I made with this pattern. I'm really not sure if I'll use this pattern again. But I made extensive notes on my pattern to help me remember problems, if I make a third vest.

I believe I will try another vest pattern to see if another vendor can provide more accurate instructions.

I also agree with other reviewers about the final Slipstitching on the shoulder area, which is left open so you can reverse the garment. In other patterns, the open seam is the side seam (where a poor slipstitch would be discretely hidden). This pattern has it on the shoulder where it is in view by everyone looking at you. If you follow the pattern, sew this slipstitch with care and perfection.

Here's my tips for a few steps. Hopefully they help you avoid my pitfalls. Items in italics are quotes from the instructions, as there are no defined step numbers.
-Stitch HEM FACING 11 to lower edge... After sewn, and when sewn to other items, it's length is longer than all other fabrics. No problem as you will sew and cut the excess, but it looks wrong at this point.
-Stitch front lining and hem facing... Remember the picture is the finished view.
-Stitch COLLAR 8 to upper... and on With right sides together, pin facings and linings... Do not sew over the seam allowances. Lift them to avoid sewing them in place. Stop on large dot, as it is a "triple point" where three sewing items will meet. This is also one of the confusing illustrations. Note the microscopic thin line which shows the right side of the "folded" under piece 8.

Conclusion:
Good looking vest. Unfortunately the collar is sewn in place, instead of being a full collar. It taught me a lot, but there were plenty of ripped out seams along the way.

That looks really good and your buttons appear to be perfectly spaced.

Very professional looking (RTW-looking) vest! I love a good men's vest. A simpler one I have made is the Burda Jason vest but it is a more casual looking vest. Fab job!

Great work! That is a very sharp looking vest! I have been wanting to make a menswear vest for myself because they look sharper and better tailored than the feminized versions. I will pick up this pattern at the next vogue sale and keep your recommendations in mind!

I intend to one day make a men's vest, but based on this review I will avoid this pattern. You got amazing results, however. Looks warm and exact.
