Pattern Description:

This is a pattern I have used before to make what I call "lovies". I am reviewing this one because I made it differently.

Fabric Used:

Minky blanket

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

My friend's daughter is having a baby shower soon and my friend asked if I could make a giraffe lovie. I figured if I found the right fabric, I could adjust the head.

I looked all over for either fabric or a blanket to cut up with giraffe print and found nothing. When I was in Tuesday Morning, I found a baby blanket with a giraffe head attached. I could see possibilities.

I took the "head" off the blanket and un-hemmed the edges. I cut a piece large enough for the body. That took half the blanket part. I cut out the arms from the remaining blanket.

For the head, I made some darts on the lower part of the head and stuffed it. Then I was able to proceed as usual with the pattern. I was actually happy I didn't have to figure out how to make the giraffe head. I was very pleased with the result. I hope my friend's daughter will be, too!
