Very nice! I understand the "a little plain" comment. But do you know how easy it is to create a little separate collar that you can add to a plain necked dress for a varied look? No need to wait until you have time to make another whole dress. Just get a pattern of a dress or blouse with a collar you like in the right size and cut out just the collar (and the stand, if it has one) and whatever facing or lining for the collar itself. Sew it together according to the directions, but instead of attaching it to a dress, attach some satin ribbons to the ends of the collar stand so you can tie it around her neck. Or you could put a button and buttonhole there if you prefer. These are quick and easy to make in a few different complementary colors/patterns and extend the use of the dress amazingly. You can do the same with false cuffs that button onto the sleeves and with different sashes (or wide satin ribbons), most people won't realize they are looking at the same dress! My mom made all the dresses for her three little girls - she knew a lot about making something old, new again! And in my turn, I made a dress very like this for my niece (same color too!), with a detachable cream lace collar and cream ribbon sash.
