Pattern Description:
from designer: "This sleeveless top has a drape front neckline which drapes elegantly at the front, making this top perfect for a dinner out or for clubbing all night long! But as well as being great for night time, this top is elegant and great for daytime at the office. Wear it with a skirt or trousers and maybe with a cardigan or blazer jacket to cover the arms. For night time it's great with jeans and heels - and a ton of bracelets! Make it in a soft rayon jersey in a color that suits you well for an elegant look or make it in a fun print or a shiny fabric for a night on the town. The back neckline and armholes can either be finished with Fold Over Elastic or invisible elastic. Pattern Sizing:
XS-XXL I made the XS Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
nice draft, super easy and an instant gratification top. I generally find I have to adjust for a narrow back, but not in this pattern, however I probably need to make the neck a little narrower. This is not a dislike about the pattern, but about cowl necks in general - they tend to create stress lines at the bust from the weight of the drape pushing down on the center front - you can see this in the pattern picture. Notice that the stress lines are much less apparent when the drape is turned inside out which is why I like wearing it that way - no finishing on the facing edge - knits are awesome! Fabric Used:
version 1 was a modal spandex, version 2 and 3 were rayon spandex Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
version 1 was no change, version 2 I took a half inch tuck horizontally through the center of the armhole and took out about 3/4" from the center back with a sway back adjustment. Version 3 had the same changes as 2 and I added long sleeves from the Ruched Tee pattern. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
ummm, already did - twice :D and yes, definitely give it a try Conclusion:
Very nice pattern! front with drape inside out back version 1 - what? the other back.. version 2 facing inside higher AH version 2 back swayback adjustment version3,drape inside out, long sleeves
