Pattern Description:
Two yard wrap vintage dress from the 60's. Ignore the kiddie pattern image. This pattern number has been reused by Butterick. Pattern Sizing:
size 12 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did. You can see the front and back views here. Were the instructions easy to follow?
This is a very easy summer dress to make and the version I've done is a test run. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This is a very simple pattern to make and wear.
The challenge is going to be to make this fit - but I'll make some adjustements with darts and resizing the arms, so I can make this work for me. Fabric Used:
Polyester georgette animal print.
This animal print is just too busy for me so I've relegated this dress as a summer bathrobe. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The first change was to raise the hem by 4".
Next version will have the arms raised and resized down. Then I'll add bodice darts to make this fit, so I'll need to muslin it before I use fashion fabric on it. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes.
This is an interesting 1960's vintage pattern that some of you have in your pattern libraries so if you have nothing challenging you at the moment, give this hip, cool dress a go.
Beautiful dress - and so clever the way it is worn. Love your fabric choice. Beautiful.
