Pattern Description: Project Runway dress with slim or flared skirt, sleeve and collar variations.
Pattern Sizing:4-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I was attracted to this pattern for the princess seams as well as the midriff. I had a design in mind for my fabric and this pattern fit the bill.
No dislikes.
Fabric Used: Some kind of polyester that was in my sister's stash for years. She gave it to me last Fall and dared me to make something with it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
- Lined the dress.
- Cut the plaid pieces on the bias.
- Shortened the dress by 1"
- I had to cut the back piece to match the front princess seams. The original pattern was all one piece. It would have meant that my back was all black or all plaid. Back Pieces
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don't have any immeditate plans to sew this pattern again. I have quite a few dress patterns in my stash that I'm anxious to get to. I would recommend this pattern to others.
Conclusion: My dress turned out as I had pictured it. That's always a good thing. I'm going to hang on to this pattern for a while. I'm very happy with the fit and it has some nice design features.
