Pattern Description: MISSES' TOP AND TUNIC: Pullover tops A, B and tunic C are close-fitting through bust.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Not entirely because I changed the scoop-neck to a v-neck.
Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes very.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the dart detail on the front and the length. Also the shaping is very flattering. I do not like scoop-necks on my body so I changed it to a v-neck.
Fabric Used:Border print ITY Poly knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:As I mentioned above, I do not think scoop-necks are flattering to me and so I changed the neckline to a v-neck. I also used a self fabric band to bind the neck edge instead of the commercial bias tape recommended in the instructions....gives it another design detail.
I did not want to add a dart so I did a fast and easy FBA equivalent by spreading the pattern horizontally and vertically.
I thought the border print was a great idea. But after laying out the pattern, I realized that the slant of the side seams meant the back and front would end at a different place related to the border. See pictures hereclick here and hereclick here. The obvious solution was a dart in the front so guess what? I put the dart in. Should just have done a regular FBA in the first place but this did make sure the dart took up just enough to bring the side seam in alignment.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes definitely. I think it is very flattering and is very comfortable to wear.
Conclusion: I Love, love, love this top and it is very easy to sew up.
