Pattern Description:
Women's flattering stretch jeans with slim fit through the hips and thigh and a flared leg, back and side front pockets, zip fly with button closure.
i made view A which has a low rise
Pattern Sizing:
children's size 2 through adult--i made the children's size 7
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
yes. i really like the construction method of doing the fly before attaching the back of the pants. being able to lay everything flat without the backside flopping around and getting in the way makes it super easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
i love that this pattern has a RTW look without altering anything. i did cut a separate fly facing instead of the turn and fold facing. i find that it holds it's shape better that way. i should note that the SA's are all 3/8". for most of the construction that is sufficient, but if you wanted to flat fell any of the seams you'll have to cut them wider. i kept the 3/8" and faux-felled them.
Fabric Used:
stretch cotton twill
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
my daughter wanted skinny jeans so i narrowed the leg by 3/8" from hip to knee, then by 5/8" from the knee down. i also added a tiny coin pocket on the front pocket facing.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
i'll definitely be using this pattern again, hopefully next time for myself!
Conclusion:
this pattern has been reviewed a bazillion times for a reason: it's a great pattern! if you're daring enough to try your hand at jeans, this is the one to go with.
