Pattern Description: Semi-fitted button-up blouse. I made view A.
Pattern Sizing: This is available in sizes 36-50.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Pretty much. The instructions do not hold your hand and sometimes I think they assume you know to do something without them telling you to do it. But they are sufficient.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I had the fabric before the pattern and I pictured this style of button-down shirt in my mind. I had the hardest time finding the perfect pattern for it until I stumbled upon this one. I love the fitted, feminine shape and the classic style.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I went two sizes down from what the size chart recommends. I measured a similar style shirt I already owned and used the finished garment measurements rather than the size chart.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. This could turn into one of my TNT patterns! It's a great classic style that can be made up in a variety of casual or dressy fabrics.
Conclusion: I look a little like a lumberjack but I'm happy! I love the fit and the flannel is very comy!
EleanorSews said... You did good! Nice fit, great plaid matching... The collar on this one looks right. Sometimes the collar on shirt patterns seems so wide in contrast to RTW. Thanks for doing the review. It's a pattern to be considered. 2/8/13 8:32 AM
