Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes - except they really only showed the top tucked in.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were good as it is the sewing lesson. However if I were to make this again I would change the order of construction and bind the armholes after sewing the side seams. I did mine as per the instructions and then found the armholes were too small. So I had to unpick and re-do...
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like it's simplicity and the scarf collar top that ties in the back.
I dislike the length of this top. It is called a 'top' in the magazine but it is tunic length and my DH described it as a smock!
Fabric Used:
A beautiful silk-cotton blend bought from Gardams (Australia).
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I had to make the armholes larger. I did trace the pattern as a 38 for the top half taking it to a 40 at the hip originally, but ended up taking the extra hip width back out. I also shortened it considerable as the length did me no favours.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably would not sew it again but would recommend it if you like the style. Check the length and the armhole size though!
Conclusion:
A pretty little top with a bit of flair in the collar tie. I have more photos showing the length in this blog post - Click Here.

I'll have to consider the length and tucking it in as I don't like to do this usually but with this it looks like a must! Love your pants too - I recognize those from Burda, I'm envious! = ) 2/11/13 9:34 AM
