Pattern Description:
Easy to Sew Collection. Misses' Shirt sewing pattern in two lengths with front collar and sleeve variations.
Pattern Sizing:
16-24. I made size 16
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
It did! It actually looked a lot like the one on the model. I guess thats why I chose the fabric that I did-- because I had an idea of what it would look like!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, although I didn't follow them the entire time. I had made three other button-down shirts before that and had the idea.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really liked the bias-yokes (front and back).
Fabric Used:
Tie-dye Plaid Linen crepe from Ralph Lauren
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Depending on the fabric you choose, I would recommend stabilizing the bias yokes. The linen had a loose weave, therefore really got distorted. It worked out in the end, but would have help its shape better if I would have stabilized it.
I also made the shirt slightly shorter, but that was a personal preference. I didn't care for the sleeve closure.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would like to try the other shirts in the pattern. I would make it again and would recommend it to others.
Conclusion:
Overall it was an easy pattern that I would recommend to both beginners and advanced sewers. Just watch the type of fabric you use, as the bias-yoke can be tricky if your fabric distorts a lot.
Really cute. Will look cute with tights.
