Pattern Description: A slimmer European cut shirt, with camp collar; long/short sleeve and front pocket options (my description)

Pattern Sizing: S - XXL - I made an XL

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy - the instruction booklet is clear, concise and made my first attempt at a men's shirt a great experience. I learned how to:
- sew an enclosed yoke
- attach a collar
- sew cuffs with a placket
- (another way to) sew flat felled seams (though I prefer the sew, trim one seam allowance, fold remaining seam allowance over and stitch down method....better control, in my experience)

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
My DH is 6'4", lean and long-armed. If he finds a shirt with long enough sleeves, the body is usually tent-like. The fit in this pattern is slimmer in the body, yet wide at the shoulders - and I adjusted sleeve/cuff length to suit him.

Fabric Used: 100% crisp cotton

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Pattern Changes:
- trimmed 2cm from front chest at armscye to reduce excess fabric
- added 4 cm to sleeve
- added 1 cm to cuff
Construction changes:
- used sew-in interfacing for the collar and cuffs - created a much smoother finish than using fusible interfacing.
- edgestitched (rather than top-stitched) the collar, cuffs, back yoke seam and front placket edges. I think it looks more RTW.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Definitely will be making more of these.

Conclusion:
The Negroni pattern is a great confidence builder for learning how to sew men's shirts!
See Negroni in Teal for more discussion.

Great looking shirt (and dh, AND cat, too!). Love the color of the fabric you used for the Negroni. The topstitching is done with great precision and adds to the total awesomeness of the shirt.

What a perfect first attempt at a men's shirt. The absence of collar band makes it a winner. A beautifully done custom-fit shirt! Nice work.
