Pattern Description: Cynthia Rowley pattern for skirt. There are several variations. I made view B this time, having made view C twice before.

Pattern Sizing:6-12. I used the size 10 in order to accomodate my thick waist but should have tapered down to a 6 in the skirt portion.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Actually, it looks just like MimiG's http://www.mimigstyle.com/ which I shamelessly copied!

Were the instructions easy to follow?Yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I think this is a cute skirt -- probably for a younger person than I! It runs very, very short.

Fabric Used:I used an Ikat linen/blend -- just like MimiG's!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:MimeG's blog had her self-drafted pocket with flap which I downloaded (for free). I really like it -- instructions and pattern were great.

Several reviewers have commented on the sweetheart bias band. I knew that if I applied it per the pattern instructions, I would not be happy with the results. So I attached the bias band by hand, using tiny fell stitches on the front and simply slip stitching the band in place on the back side. Since I didn't want any topstitching on this skirt, I also stitched the pockets in place using a fell stitch.

Since I didn't use the ties, I extended the zipper all the way to the top and added a hook and eye to the band.

I added 2 inches to the skirt length, but it was still very short. I ended up having to face the skirt in order to hem it since I didn't use the bias band on the bottom.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I doubt I'll make this again but I do think it is cute. If I were to make it again, I would take out some of the fullness in the skirt.

Conclusion: They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery -- so MimiG should feel very flattered.
