This top is from the BurdaStyle sewing vintage modern book. It is the Joni Bell Sleeve Top which is drafted from the Block of the Jamie Shift dress in the same book.
It has a square neckline, cropped waist and button closures at back.

It did look just like the finished garment in the book. I was worried as I was fitting it was going to be a tiny bit short but it was just ok. I would recommend adding a few inches just incase you don't like it this short.

I found the sewing instructions and the drafting instructions very easy to follow. Would be great start for a beginner.

I really love the sleeves. Just for something a bit different.

I used a black Japanese cotton seersucker with eyelet details.

I altered the armhole. I had to lower armhole about 2 cms as it was a bit too snug.

The only reason I wouldn't sew it again is because I have too much on the sewing table right now!! But highly recommend it for beginners or anybody that likes a boho style top.

Cute, easy to sew in a day. Choose a fabric that has a bit of body otherwise I think the sleeves might droop too much.
