Pattern Description: MISSES' TOP: Pullover top has neck and sleeve bands. A: close-fitting, hem bands. B: overlapped back, flesh will show. A and B: shaped hemline, wrong side shows on B. B and C: loose-fitting, stitched hems, and tacking forms twist effect on band.
Pattern Sizing:XS-XXL
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, I made View A, the 3/4 sleeve version
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
1. There are no set in sleeves. The sleeve is cut-on the front and back pieces, so the shoulder seam just extends all of the way down.
2. The bottom and sleeves are finished with bands, not hemmed. The sleeve band has a some mitering at the top to give it that slightly angular look.
3. The v-neck is very narrow and deep, which I really like. I made the Large size, which would normally be too wide at the neckline for me, but this one was just perfect.
4. The sleeves are 3/4 length and very close fitting. This is a good all-season sleeve- you can easily fit a cardigan over it if you are too chilly, but you're not going to get overheated on a warm day either.
Fabric Used: A rayon knit- very lightweight and with good drape.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lengthened it 1 inch in the body, and 1/2 inch in the sleeves.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I made another out of a beefier cotton/lycra knit, and it is a little too stiff for the pattern. I think this pattern really is best for thin drapey rayon knits.
Conclusion: May just be the best t-shirt pattern that I've tried for drapey knits! Great job Vogue! For more, see My Blog Post

Normally, I don't like cut-on sleeves in knits, precisely because of the usual bat wing effect, but your version of this pattern is very sylphlike.

It looks so good on you - I wasn't as impressed with it on the model. Nice job.

Oh, such a helpful review, Annie! The combination of a narrow V-neck and cut-on sleeves isn't obvious from the pattern description--what a great combination for a quick knit top! Yours is very attractive.

Pretty top with a lovely drape at the front.

I really like the way your top drapes. When this came out I passed on the pattern. After seeing yours, I ordered today on the current BMV sale.

Your recommendation to use with thin drapey rayon knits was what interested me in this pattern. I plan to sew this from several pieces in my stash. Though the pattern description says close-fitting, the body of the top doesn't appear that way on you. The soft, drape-y look is very flattering!
