Pattern Description (by Melissa):
This is an arm band that has a pocket on one side, with a simple fold-over flap for keeping things like phones, keys, travelcard, etc nicely inside and tight against your arm while you exercise. The original pattern has no closures.
The band slips over your wrist like a bracelet and up your arm and the stretchiness of the fabric holds it in place.
The back doesn't contain a pocket because it's double-sided. All the raw edges are nicely contained inside.
Pattern Sizing:
The size is determined by your upper arm measurement. I made one for me and one for a friend and while we're both short, our arm sizing was different.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I followed Melissa's instructions on her blog. Click Here to see more photos of the armband. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I wanted to see if this accessory would keep my iPhone on my while running in the commando class. I made 3 so I like the pattern.
My friend uses hers to hold her phone and listen to music while she trains too.
Did you make any pattern alterations?
I made a full pocket version instead of a part pocket arm band.
Fabric Used:
Poly lycra.
Conclusion:
I made 3 and I've found this to be really comfortable to wear while my iPhone stays firmly on my arm. I gave one away and she loves hers too.
squirrellypoo said... Yay! I'm so glad you like and use yours, and that your friend does, too. I should really make more of these with leftover lycra bits - how cool would it be to have armbands that match your vest or leggings?? :) 3/12/13 12:35 PM
