Pattern Sizing:
XS-XL (30-40 inch hip). I made a medium, according to my hip measurement and the fit is good.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were clearly set out with diagrams for some steps. I found them easy to follow. There are a few more notes on this pattern by the designer here
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that these are unusual (being made from a woven fabric), cute and quirky. They are rather cheeky in the bum area though, so may not suit everyone!
Fabric Used:
A printed microfibre fabric.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I followed the pattern exactly. However, I used a strip of lycra instead of elastic. This was cut 2cm wide, folded into thirds lengthwise and attached with a three-step zig-zag. I used the lycra as the elastic is attached to the outside of the knickers so is on show. The lycra was more attractive than elastic and worked perfectly as a substitute.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I will probably sew this again, but I will try adding a bit of extra fabric to cover the cheeks! I may also make them slightly higher in the waist to see how that looks.
Conclusion:
These are lovely knickers that look adorable and feel special. They are comfortable to wear and don't tend to ride up. I think I would feel more comfortable with more bum coverage, but this is just personal taste. Thank you to Madalynne for this lovely, free pattern which has been beautifully produced.

The lycra was a good idea, and I love the contrast of black on the dark and gold fabric. Makes it sultrier!
