Pattern Description:
Lose fittingVest A and Jacket B,C, D have front extending into drape and narrow hem. I made vew D
Pattern Sizing:
Medium
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were clearly written.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This works up into a quick jacket. I have also made view B and had good results. The instructions calls for slip stitching the cuff and hem facings on the inside. I used a machine blind hem instead.
Fabric Used: I used a cotton blend that has a silver metallic thread going through it, The drape was working out fine for the jacket until I added the bottom faced section, Then the whole jacket felt stiff and did not drape at all. I finished the jacket and threw it into the washer and dryer which softened the fabric helping the drape.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Due to late night sewing, I made a mistake on the cuffs. I cut out the fabric for the cuff and the facing but ended up folding my cuff in half and did not use the facing at all. This made the sleeves about 2 inches shorter than the pattern called for but, the finished length was much better for me.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I may sew this again in the future with a drapey wool fabric Conclusion:
