Pattern Description:
Misses pull over top or tunic with banded neckline and sleeve variations, optional tie at waist.
I made View C (the narrower V-neckline) with long sleeves.
Pattern Sizing:
10-22 I made a 12, since there was a LOT of EASE!! (8.5"). My measurements suggested a 16--that would have been gigantic.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?.
Yes, however the drawing for step 19 where you sew the ends of the banded neckline together is not helpful. I figured out what needed to be done, but the enlarged photo is useless.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked that it is a tunic style and the gathers along the neckline and sleeves make it more interesting than a basic tunic.
Fabric Used: Cotton purchased in India
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made my own piping and added it around the neck band and also at the sleeve cuffs. The print on my fabric was pretty busy and I thought that adding piping would make the details of the shirt stand out. I did a lot of hand basting to keep the piping in the right place before sewing it and I'm happy with how it came out.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!
Conclusion:
I had no issues at with this top, it came together very easily, it looks cute on, and I am so pleased with my first attempt at making and using piping. I'm very happy with how this turned out.
