A fun little girl's dress to make. I made a size 3. I purchased the sheer fabric on sale for $4.00 a meter thinking it would make a really cute little girl's dress. Since the fabric had the border print on both sides I was able to make this dress with one meter of fabric. However, I had to return to the store for another .5 meters after my iron touched the seam and melted the bodice. Lesson learned always use my pressing cloth when using this fabric and do not take short cuts thinking the iron was cool enough. I did not follow all the instructions and sewed the shoulder seams first then the neckline. I will admit I was not sure what to do with the petticoat hem. After checking out the RTW I turned the hem facing the front of the dress. Still am not sure this was the right call with a twirling 3 year old. I did use some of the flowers from the border print on the ribbon trim and attached a small glass bead in the centre of each flower.
I would recommend this pattern depending on the fabric used it can be dressy or casual.
