| Pattern Description:
Tapered leg pants, elastic waist, hem detail includes side vents.
The pattern also includes a really cute jacket that I can't wait to try.
Pattern Sizing:
Nine sizes are included. I made a size M and added to the crotch depth. I should not have added it, so I'm pretty sure I made a mistake in my initial measurements. Like her one-seams, the pattern for these pants includes detailed, easy-to-follow instructions for determining the best size. It also includes many instructions for tweaking the size as you go along.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, much as expected.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were of course thorough and easy to follow. Also the instructions include a clever leg vent detail that can be adapted to other locations. This is what I love about CLD patterns - the techniques are always interesting and almost always something that could be used elsewhere.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Narrow leg pants continue to be on trend. This is a challenge for those of us with hips. This pattern allows me to participate in the trend without looking inappropriate (I think) and I like the result.
Fabric Used:
a wool-lycra blend.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made no design changes at all.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Oh, yes, I'll make another pair very soon, this time in a linen with no stretch. I'll need to alter the hip room for this.
I definitely recommend this pattern. It is beautifully drafted, and the instructions plus illustrations make this a pleasure to sew.
Conclusion:
Great pattern - can't wait to start the jacket next.

Looks so nice and I also want to make pants with a slimmer leg without looking like I've forgotten my age so this may be a good one to try. As usual your great workmanship shows

Louise Cutting was at the Puyallup Sew Expo and talked about fitting these pants. Of course, I bought the pattern (and many others), because I really like her sewing techniques and styles. Thanks for this review. Your pants look great. Can't wait to make some of my own.

I really like the pants on you - most becoming. I can't wait to see your jacket too!

They're very smart pants. Well done.

I made the one seam pants but felt they were way too baggy. I like toasts a bit fitted in the thigh area. How would you describe the fit of these pants compared to the one seam pants? Thanks so much.

Hi, marycds, I am not a big fan of the regular one-seams. Too full, IMO. The tapered version is pretty nice, though. And these are even closer. Plus, with the MSS (this pattern), you can adjust the fit with the side seam. HTH
