| Pattern Description: Underbust Corset
Pattern Sizing:24"-28" waist size. It's also available in 18"-22" and 30"-34"
More about the pattern: It doesn't come with seam allowances or instructions, it's intended for people who are already familiar with sewing corsets. It creates an interesting shape that I hadn't tried before, with most of the shaping on the side panels rather than taken more evenly around the panels.
Fabric Used:The fashion fabric layer is aquamarine dupioni from Silk Baron interfaced to fusible tricot. The strength layer is black herringbone English coutil from King and Company, and the lining is a purple couture linen from FabricMart.
I used 24 quarter-inch spiral steel bones, four regular 1/4" flat steels (on either side of the lacing) and two extra-thick flat steels that corsetmaking.com sells as 1/4" but are actually 3/8". I used the extra-thick bones in the side-back seams for extra back support.
Embellishments are two different types of lace, accented with ss6 and ss10 hotfix Swarovski crystals. I'm pleased with the result, but the pink lace itself was a bad choice; it kept pulling and raveling, and I ended up stabilizing it with bits of fusible web and liquid thread applied with a flat tip on my hotfix tool.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I probably will sew it again, although I'm planning on an overbust for my next corset. I'd recommend it to people who have sewn corsets before, but probably not as a first corset project.

Wow, your construction looks amazing and your color choices are gorgeous! I recently ordered from Silk Baron for the first time and was thrilled; what is the dupioni color called because I love it!

Aquamarine. I've never actually made a "real" Silk Baron order, so far it's just been scrap sale orders for making corsets. This was the first time I got up the nerve to actually cut into Silk Baron silk. I spent more than a year just fondling my Silk Baron silks!
