|Pattern Description: A downloadable multi-size (S-M-L-XL) panties pattern! |
Two vertical seams at front, seamless back. Seamlessness and lowness at the back bottom makes it perfect under the tight fitting clothes; no seams or panty lines seen through. Flattering and feminine model, fast and easy to make!
Pattern includes a 5-page PDF (A4); general information, construction guide and patterns.
Pattern Sizing:S-XL. I ended up making a medium even though my measurements put me in medium to large sizing.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, though I thought they were drafted a little higher than what the figure drawing indicates.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, those these are so simple that they are hardly even necessary. There's a drawing to help you figure out how to sew the crotch, which is the hardest part.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the lack of side seams and how it offers full coverage in the back. It has a lot of potential - you can colorblock the front panel, use lace trim, foldover elastic, etc. The designer at Make Bra added a CF seam when cutting using a striped fabric, which looks really neat.
Fabric Used: For Version 1 I used nylon milliskin, which is a 4-way stretch knit with a firm, snappy stretch. For Version 2 I used a 2-way stretch mesh (Fabric Mart). The recommended fabrics are 4-way stretch knits. My stretch mesh version ended up being 2" lower in the rise than the milliskin one.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Instead of foldover elastic I finished the waistband on both with stretch lace. The leg openings of the first version were finished with the same stretch lace as the waistband, and the second version had regular picot lingerie elastic. I also lowered the rise 2" and could have lowered it another 1".
For fit I added 1/2" to the CB and removed 1/2" from the center front.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I would definitely sew it again. I do recommend it to others if they are looking for a modern full coverage panty pattern.
