Thanks for the all the kind comments. marycds, This jacket is a copy of one designed by Gail Doane. I went and looked at Kari Meccas designs...they do remind me of these and are really cute. I'm tempted to buy some of her designs so thanks for pointing them out. The fabric is just a light weight fleece. I have a bolt in my stash so used it rather than the boiled wool the inspiration piece was made from.

Wow. Lost for words as that jacket is just so perfectly beautiful. Lucky, lucky niece. Love your bullion stitch, absolutely perfect. The whole outfit is something to be very proud of.
