I originally worked on the test version of this hoodie for Mari. The black fleece version is the pattern she has now launched. I've made these to hoodies for nix and because I thought it would be nice to sew for my husband as part of this process. Pattern Description: taken from Mari's website:This semi-fitted hoodie with princess seam construction. A sweet but not saccharine coupleís pattern, the menís pattern was designed to have straighter, more masculine, seaming details than the womenís pattern.
Back pockets allow your partner to slip their hand in while walking with an arm around you.
The hoodie features front and optional back pockets that are finished with tabs. Long cuffs have thumb openings to keep your hands warmer as the weather changes. The hood has overlapping and non-overlapping options so you can decide how warm or cool you want your hoodie to be.
34 - 48 sizes. I've sewn sizes 42 and 44. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Both versions looked like the pattern envelope. Click here to see both versions up close.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they were.
There are illustrations for each step and each step reinforces for each stage of construction. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the styling. My husband loves these hoodies.
I absolutely love the thumb opening in the sleeve band.
There are three hood styles to choose from.
I'm still getting used to piecing together pdf patterns.
This pattern gives you lots of fabric styling options if you think outside the box or run out of fabric along the way. Fabric Used: Here's the black fleece version in size 44.
The blue test version is in size 42 and this version is worn a lot to the gym. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I've lengthened the sleeves by 2" in size 44.
I used 5/8" seam on the neckline where I should have used 3/8" seams. This can been seen as the neckline is lower on the black version. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes. This is my husband's official TNT hoodie.
There are so many ways I can now play with fabrics and contrast stitching so I never have to but another hoodie pattern for him.
