|Pattern Description: |
This one is a rather basic jacket with sleeve vents, princess seaming and it's fully lined.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. This is a great pattern with some good tips along the way for perfecting fit and technique.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Fabric Used: ?
Stretch floral denim bottomweight from Joann's.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made several alterations, including taking in the sleeves and omitting the sleeve vent, stictly for the ease of pushing up the sleeves and having them stay in place below the elbow.
I left out the lining, and instead finished all the inside seams/hems with bias binding or french seams. This meant I had to draft a back facing so that the collar could be finished appropriately. I found that this being a stretch, combined with the fact that I have lost some weight meant that I had to take in my seams through the body. I also added a center back seam to get more shaping. But it was pure joy doing it!
I used the flaps, but no pockets.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This jacket pattern has become a classic basic for me, and it's the third time I've made it. It's a lovely jacket, and pretty straightforward , so it can be worn across many styles and trends.
I love the fresh floral used in a classic blazer. It's a suprising twist, and a happy little jacket to wear!
