Pattern Description: This is a jean-style pattern for maternity wear. It comes in capri or full length.
Pattern Sizing: Available in sizes 8-20 (pre-maternity measurements).
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were fine. These are relatively easy to sew.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like the jean style design. I do not like the maternity waistband- see below.
Fabric Used: I used a stretch denim I purchased online. The maternity band is made with a ribbed knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I don't believe the pattern designer actually tested this on a real pregnant body... or even a dress form for that matter. The maternity band is cut the same width as the jean itself. There is not negative ease. This means that it is loose and serves no purpose for keeping the pant up. I had to take in 8 inches all around to get a snugger fit. The band must be stretched during sewing to fit the jean after taking it in. During wear, it tends to stretch out a bit, so I should have taken it in a bit more.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I probably won't sew this again. I do recommend it as a nice, basic maternity pant but do try out the maternity band before sewing it into the pant!
Conclusion: A nice fitting pant aside from the maternity band.
