Loose-fitting elastic waisted shorts featuring cuffed leg openings and elasticized bubble side pockets. Classic style is easy-to-make with a front tied bow, while the Sailor style offers six functioning buttons and mitered corner bias tape enclosed inside edges for a clean, professional-looking finish. Sailor style also has adjustable elastic waistband. Both styles feature a contrasting inside waistband. Pattern Sizing:
Size 6 months to 8 years. I made the sailor style in size 8 based on the measurement chart. It was a bit large on my daughter who wears a size 8 in RTW.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, other than the changes I made
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes very easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the contrasting flap on the sailor style and the large pockets. The instructions were excellent. The only problem I had was that the sizing ran a little large.
Michael Miller Cotton Couture
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I added a double ruffle to the bottom of the shorts, and a bias tape stripe.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I am sewing it again. This time I am using the classic view. Conclusion:
It is a very cute and easy to put together pattern. The sizing is a little off so a muslin might be useful if you are working with expensive fabric.
