|Pattern Description: A basic circle skirt. Sunday afternoon, I was itching to sew something quick. As I was going through my blog reader, I came across this nifty skirt tutorial by Dana of MADE. |
Pattern Sizing: This is actually a tutorial in which you do a little bit of math and make your own pattern. It literally took 5 minutes!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Absolutely.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Dana provides step by step instructions for sewing this skirt on her blog (follow the link above). I couldn't believe how quick this project was. It only took 3/4 yard of fabric and 19" long elastic piece. And when it was ready, and I saw how much fun Dia had twirling in it, I whipped up yet another one. Dana, mentions that Joanns is now carrying colored elastic. I am so getting it!
I also added a cute label in the back of the skirt.
Fabric Used: I used quilting cotton for both the skirts. The black dots is Ombre dots from Riley Blake and the flower skirt is Michael Miller. Both are from Fabric.com.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? OMG totally! I might even sew it in silk!
Conclusion: Make one, make 20! This is too cute to pass. If you've got half hour, you can make these!
