Pattern Description: Tunic Top with Flounce Sleeve or a plain 3/4 sleeves
Pattern Sizing:Misses 8 - 18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, except where the under-arm gusset is sewn between the flounces. Not sure how it could have been done better though. It's a very difficult piece to describe.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the fluttery sleeve flounces. Dislike - Didn't have a pocket option - I've gotta have pockets.
Fabric Used:An aged stash cotton blend, very thin and lightweight and maybe a little too sheer. I use a plain white for the facings and pockets so the pattern wouldn't show through.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:The largest size is an 18 but I'm currently about a 24, but I have historically had to take in the shoulders. After reading some of the other reviews that mentioned how much ease there is in this top, I added about half of what I had intended to the front and back at the fold line (gathering extra as the pattern shows). It was just enough added, but I should have spread the gathers all the way across the front facing instead of bunching in the center.
I added pockets, I always add a pocket of some kind if one isn't in the pattern.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes.
Conclusion: as a top that will shrink with me as I loose weight, it's OK since the only "fit" is in the shoulders. I'm going to make the tie belt to have available for when I have a waist again.
