The search for my perfect maxi skirt is finally over! I LOVE this pattern. The ultra-feminine trumpet shape is super flattering and uses up very little fabric. I found this pattern on my favorite knit fabric store Girl Charlee (click on the link above to see it) and fell it love instantly. The pattern does not disappoint. After I made up my first version in Girl Charlee knit, I decided to whip up yet another in this gorgeous rayon jersey I bought from Mood last year.
Pattern Description: A pattern for a women’s knit maxi skirt with a wide, flattering waistband and instructions for both a ruffled and a non-ruffled finish.
Pattern Sizing: Pattern is sized from XS-XL. I used size Small based on my measurements and the fit is spot on!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are really good with step by step photos. After I sewed it up once, I didn't even have to look at them. This skirt was sewn completely on the serger except for the hem. My 1st version, I didn't even hem it
The tip of sewing clear elastic in the waistband is brilliant! I am totally going to use this for my other projects.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? As I mentioned above, I LOVE everything about this pattern.
Fabric Used: Rayon Jersey knit from Mood Fabrics online.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No alterations were made in this.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I've already made two. I am planning on sewing a solid black version tonight and then I might even try the ruffled maxi.
