Pattern Description: The Victoria is a casual blazer featuring 3/4 length sleeves, a turned up French seamed cuff and side seam pockets, with cropped and sleeveless variations. Designed with a generous amount of ease for a laid back style, this blazer is the perfect throw-it-over-everything wardrobe staple.
Pattern Sizing: 2-16. I made a 2.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes - although I eliminated the lower lapels as the fabric tended to curl and they did not lie flat.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Absolutely. Although I could not find the part about finishing the lining at the armholes. Easy enough to do though - just turn the raw edges under and slip stitch to the armhole seam allowance.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really loved this. I would like to try the longer version in a softer drape fabric.
Fabric Used: Silk dupioni for the outer shell. Vintage silk sari for the lining.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I eliminated the lower lapels as they were not lying nicely due to the gilt edge of the silk sari.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes I will sew it again, I love it's slouchy street style.
Conclusion: A great design, easy to sew and open to lots of interesting personalisations.
