Pattern Description: This flattering A-line dress pattern features three lengths and three sleeve options so you can sew the perfect dress for any occasion, from a day at the office to a night out. The dress can be made as a mini-dress, an above-the-knee length dress, or a maxi-dress. Choose the right sleeve length from three options: sleeveless, short-sleeved, and three-quarter-length. The dress also features seam detailing, an interesting notched detail at the neckline, and a back zip. Select the combination of dress and sleeve length to create the style that suits you best.
Pattern Sizing: 6-22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, especially since I used the same Lisette fabric as the pattern picture but in a different colorway.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the effect of the top stitching as an added design detail. It's a little lost due to my print, but I think this would really look great with a solid color as a base.
Fabric Used: Lisette cotton from Joann's
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No changes - just made a straight size 16 and was very pleased with the fit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will definitely sew it again in a linen or chambray-type fabric. I wish I had realized when picking out the fabric how hard it would be to match that kind of print on a center seam running down the whole front of the dress! Ididn't even notice there was a seam till I was cutting out the pattern pieces. I tried to make a little heart design in the bodice seams but was unsuccessful by about 1/2"!
Conclusion: I love the RTW look of this dress. It reminds me of the Lilly Pulitzer beach dresses that I admire but can't afford. It is easy to make and easy to wear - the best combination in my opinion!
