A pleated front neckline for knit fabrics, with various sleeve options. Pattern Sizing:
Multiple sizes are available - I cut the largest size Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very good instructions. I got a bit confused about the neck facing attaching to the sleeve seams, but it wasn't really a big problem and I just made it up the way I thought it could go and it turned out okay. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the pleated neckline a lot. Fabric Used:
I chose to use a woven fabric, a cotton rayon blend, instead of a knit fabric and it turned out fine. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I didn't follow the side seams curve and instead drew a straight line from the under arm to the hem. This helped a lot because I wasn't using a stretchy fabric and it gave my body plenty of room.
If you are making this, I would suggest taking a couple of extra minutes to make sure that the centre front pleat tucks really do line up with each other, as it is easy for the fabric to shift and having those front-and-centre tucks split apart a little can be distracting to the neatness of your neckline. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I've made two of these tops and can highly recommend it. Conclusion:
A good pattern that could easily be made for casual or dressy occassions.
